Peachtree City's Authority in Fiber Cement & Hardie Plank Siding

If you're replacing old vinyl or wood siding on your Peachtree City home, fiber cement siding is the upgrade that pays for itself. James Hardie products are engineered specifically for Southern climates — resisting humidity, termites, rot, and storm damage that break down lesser materials within a decade.

Every siding replacement we do in Peachtree City starts with a full strip-down of the existing cladding. That means removing every panel of old vinyl, wood, or deteriorated siding so we can inspect the sheathing and framing underneath. In older homes around Lake Peachtree and the Braelinn area, we frequently find hidden moisture damage and rotted sheathing that would compromise any new siding installation if left untreated. We repair the structure first, then install Tyvek house wrap as a moisture barrier before a single piece of fiber cement goes up.

Need Construction installs the full James Hardie fiber cement product line — including HardiePlank lap siding, HardieShingle, and HardiePanel vertical siding. Hardie plank siding delivers fire and pest resistance that no vinyl or wood product can match: it's non-combustible, impervious to termites and carpenter ants, and backed by a 30-year non-prorated warranty. For Peachtree City homes where humidity runs high eight months of the year, that kind of durability matters.

We handle the full scope of custom color matching through Hardie's ColorPlus technology system, which factory-applies multiple coats of baked-on color for consistent fade resistance. Whether you're matching existing trim in a Kedron subdivision home or going with a full exterior refresh in Glenloch, we pull your HOA's architectural guidelines and submit color samples for approval before ordering materials. No surprises, no rework, no delays.

Modern Exterior Options

Modern Board and Batten & Aluminum Siding Options

Not every Peachtree City home calls for traditional lap siding. We install board and batten siding for the modern farmhouse aesthetic that's taken over Southern Fayette County, plus high-performance aluminum siding for homeowners who want maximum durability with virtually zero maintenance.

Board and batten siding is the fastest-growing exterior style we install in Peachtree City. The vertical profile creates a striking modern farmhouse look that stands out in neighborhoods like Planterra Ridge, Aberdeen, and The Gates — where newer construction and renovations are leaning hard into contemporary aesthetics. We install board and batten in both fiber cement and engineered wood, with precision trim work at corners, windows, and soffits that gives the finished product a custom, architectural quality.

For homeowners focused on longevity and low maintenance, aluminum siding remains one of the most practical choices on the market. Modern aluminum siding has come a long way from the thin, dent-prone panels of the 1970s — today's products feature thicker gauges, baked-on finishes, and insulated backing that improves energy efficiency. Aluminum siding won't rot, warp, crack, or attract insects, and it's 100% recyclable at the end of its life. We regularly install aluminum siding on Peachtree City homes along the golf cart path corridors where exposure to sun and weather is constant.

Charcoal siding and deep-tone color palettes dominate the requests we get from Peachtree City homeowners right now. Whether it's charcoal board and batten accents on a lighter main body or a full dark exterior with contrasting white trim, these palettes photograph well, hide dirt longer, and create serious curb appeal. We pair every color selection with precision trim and soffit work — seamless corner boards, window casings, and fascia that tie the entire exterior together for a cohesive, finished look.

Board and Batten Styles

High-Durability Aluminum

On-Trend Color Palettes

Charcoal, navy, and deep earth tones that dominate Peachtree City's modern exterior trends — paired with contrasting trim for maximum curb appeal.

Precision Trim & Soffit Work

Seamless corner boards, window casings, and fascia detailing that tie your entire exterior together for a clean, architectural finish.

"It's tough to find people you feel like you can trust not to try and get over on you. I spoke with Wes about work I needed to get done and was surprised at his level of honesty and professionalism. Putting that with the word of mouth on the quality of his work... and I wouldn't/won't hesitate to work with him on my next project."

"We had a major project to be undertaken. Need construction to the rescue!! We had water damage to some of the framing on the home exterior and major deck demo and rebuild. They handled it all. I had some unique requests that I wanted installed on my deck. The DekDrain rain system along with the full composite Dekorators Summit boards and railing with a cocktail rail was our desire. We also had to have a concrete patio area below. Wes and his team made it all happen. The subframe was built with better materials that any other contractor had even offered and I was impressed with that alone. I have no doubt that hurricane force winds would have no effect on this fortress of a deck. Even the city inpectors were wowed by the build quality. The craftsmanship and finishing of the final product is top tier. They will take the time to make sure it's your dream come true."

FAQ

Peachtree City Siding Installation FAQ

Common questions from Peachtree City homeowners about siding materials, costs, and installation.

What is aluminum siding and is it still a good option?

Aluminum siding is a metal cladding made from formed aluminum panels that lock together to cover your home's exterior. It's absolutely still a strong option — especially in Peachtree City where humidity and insects are constant threats. Aluminum siding resists termites, carpenter ants, and rot completely, and it's non-combustible which can reduce your homeowner's insurance premiums. It's also one of the most eco-friendly siding choices because aluminum is 100% recyclable. We've installed aluminum siding on dozens of homes across Southern Fayette County and it consistently holds up with minimal maintenance.

How much does aluminum siding cost in Peachtree City?

Aluminum siding in Peachtree City typically runs between $4 and $8 per square foot installed, depending on panel thickness, insulation backing, and profile style. For a standard 2,000 square foot home, you're looking at roughly $8,000 to $16,000 for materials and labor combined. That compares favorably to fiber cement siding, which runs $6 to $13 per square foot installed but offers a longer warranty period. We provide free on-site estimates for every Peachtree City project so you get an accurate number based on your home's specific measurements and existing conditions.

Fiber cement vs. vinyl: which is better for Georgia weather?

For Georgia's combination of intense summer heat, high humidity, and occasional severe storms, fiber cement siding outperforms vinyl on nearly every metric. Fiber cement — particularly James Hardie products — won't warp, melt, or buckle in triple-digit heat the way vinyl panels can. It stands up to hail and wind-blown debris far better than vinyl, which cracks on impact. In Peachtree City's humid climate, fiber cement also resists mold and moisture infiltration when properly installed with a moisture barrier system. The upfront cost is higher than vinyl, but the 30-to-50 year lifespan and superior storm resistance make it the smarter long-term investment for South Atlanta homeowners.

How long does Hardie Plank siding last?

James Hardie plank siding carries a 30-year non-prorated product warranty, but in practice most installations last 40 to 50 years with basic maintenance. That maintenance is minimal — occasional washing and touch-up painting every 10 to 15 years if you choose the primed-and-painted option, or virtually zero upkeep with Hardie's ColorPlus factory-finish line. We've been installing hardie board siding across the Atlanta metro for over eight years and it consistently outperforms every other siding material in Georgia's climate for durability and appearance retention.

Can I install board and batten siding over existing materials?

We strongly recommend against installing board and batten siding directly over existing cladding. The substrate underneath needs to be flat, structurally sound, and free of moisture damage — and the only way to confirm that is by stripping the old siding first. When we remove existing vinyl or wood siding, we inspect the sheathing for rot, water intrusion, and insect damage that would otherwise get sealed behind your new siding. For Peachtree City homes, especially older builds near Lake Peachtree and along the cart path corridors, we regularly find hidden moisture issues that need to be addressed before new board and batten goes up.

What are the most popular siding colors in Peachtree City?

Charcoal siding and deep navy tones are the most requested colors across Peachtree City right now, followed closely by warm earth tones like Iron Gray, Timber Bark, and Aged Pewter from the James Hardie palette. In neighborhoods like Kedron, Braelinn, and Glenloch, we see a strong push toward modern farmhouse aesthetics with darker charcoal siding paired with white trim and board and batten accents. If your subdivision has an HOA, we pull the architectural guidelines before recommending a color scheme — many Peachtree City HOAs have specific approved palettes and we handle the approval submissions for you.

Is Hardie Board siding fire resistant?

Yes — hardie board siding is classified as a non-combustible material. It's made from a mixture of cement, sand, and cellulose fiber that will not ignite, sustain flame, or contribute fuel to a fire. This is a meaningful advantage over vinyl and wood siding, both of which are combustible. Some homeowners in Peachtree City have leveraged their hardie board siding installation to negotiate lower premiums with their insurance carrier, since the non-combustible cladding reduces the fire risk profile of the home.

How do I find a siding installer in Peachtree City?

Look for a contractor who holds manufacturer certification — specifically James Hardie Preferred or Elite Contractor status if you're going with fiber cement. Certification means the installer has completed product-specific training and follows the manufacturer's installation protocols, which is required for full warranty coverage. Need Construction is a certified Hardie installer serving Peachtree City and the broader South Atlanta area, with 8+ years of siding installation experience and full Georgia licensing and insurance. We're happy to provide references from recent Peachtree City siding projects.
