Premium Fiber Cement & Hardie Board Siding

Johns Creek homeowners demand siding that can handle Georgia's punishing humidity, shrug off woodpecker damage, and look impeccable for decades. That's exactly what James Hardie fiber cement siding delivers — and our certified crew has been installing it across Johns Creek neighborhoods from St. Ives to Country Club of the South for over eight years.

Genuine James Hardie Products

We install only authentic James Hardie hardie board siding — no imitations or off-brand substitutes. Every board is manufactured specifically for the Southeast's climate zone, standing up to the heavy summer rains along Jones Bridge Road, the freeze-thaw cycles that hit River Trace in winter, and the relentless humidity that warps lesser materials. You get the industry's most proven product backed by the strongest warranty available.

Engineered for North Georgia's Climate

Fiber siding from James Hardie is purpose-built for the HZ10 climate zone — the Southeast's demanding combination of high humidity, intense UV exposure, and year-round pest pressure. It won't rot like wood, won't warp like vinyl under August heat, and its dense fiber cement composition is impervious to the woodpecker damage that's common along Johns Creek's heavily wooded lots near the Chattahoochee River corridor. Homeowners on Medlock Bridge Road and throughout Technology Park know that durability matters.

ColorPlus® Factory Finish

Select from over 30 factory-applied ColorPlus colors — each baked on in multiple coats under controlled conditions that no field painter can replicate. The finish resists fading, chipping, and cracking far longer than traditional paint on hardie plank siding. Whether you want a crisp Arctic White for a classic colonial or a striking Evening Blue to complement your stone accents, the color is applied at the factory and stays true for years under Georgia's direct sun.

Professional Flashing & Moisture Barrier

Every fiber cement siding installation includes a full weather-resistant house wrap and the option to add rigid foam insulation beneath the boards. This dramatically cuts air infiltration — a major driver of high energy bills in Johns Creek homes, especially during those brutal July and August months when your HVAC runs around the clock. Proper flashing at every window, door, and penetration point prevents the moisture intrusion that causes mold and rot behind walls.

We've installed fiber cement siding on homes throughout Johns Creek — from stately brick-and-siding colonials in Country Club of the South to contemporary builds along McGinnis Ferry Road. The process starts with a thorough inspection of your existing exterior, followed by careful removal, sheathing repair where needed, house wrap installation, and precision fitting of every HardiePlank board. Our attention to corner boards, trim details, and window flashing is what sets a Need Construction project apart.

As certified James Hardie installers, we follow every manufacturer specification to ensure your warranty remains fully intact. That means correct gap spacing, corrosion-resistant fasteners, and moisture management protocols that meet or exceed Fulton County building code. When you pair a new roof with siding, we coordinate both trades for a seamless exterior transformation — one crew, one timeline, one point of contact.

Modern Board and Batten & Accent Siding

Johns Creek's luxury homes deserve exteriors that match the quality inside. From the bold vertical lines of board and batten siding to sleek aluminum siding accents and rich stone veneer, today's homeowners want a look that stands out. Need Construction specializes in these modern profiles that are transforming streetscapes from Abbotts Bridge to State Bridge Road.

Board and Batten: The Modern Farmhouse Standard

Board and batten siding creates dramatic vertical lines that add depth and architectural character to any home. This style has become the defining look for luxury renovations and new construction across Johns Creek — and it's easy to see why. The wide boards paired with narrow battens throw shadow lines that shift throughout the day, giving your home a visual presence that flat lap siding simply can't deliver.

We install board and batten in both James Hardie fiber cement and engineered wood profiles. For Johns Creek homeowners chasing the refined farmhouse aesthetic seen in newer builds near Technology Park and along Buice Road, we recommend HardiePanel vertical siding with HardieTrim battens. You get the look of traditional wood construction with zero maintenance headaches — no painting, no rotting, no termite concerns.

Pair your board and batten with stone veneer on the lower facade, a standing-seam metal roof accent, or a new front porch with craftsman columns — and you've got a home that turns heads on every street in Johns Creek.

Aluminum Siding for Contemporary Design

Aluminum siding has earned a permanent place in Johns Creek's architectural vocabulary, particularly for homeowners pursuing clean, contemporary styles. Modern aluminum panels provide a precision-engineered look that pairs perfectly with flat rooflines, oversized windows, and minimalist trim — the design language showing up in newer construction along the GA-141 corridor and near Johns Creek Town Center.

Today's aluminum siding bears no resemblance to the flimsy material your parents remember. We install heavy-gauge aluminum panels with factory-applied finishes in matte, satin, and textured options. It's lightweight, completely fireproof, and immune to the rot and insect damage that plagues wood in North Georgia's humid climate. For accent walls, gable treatments, and architectural details, aluminum delivers unmatched precision.

Our crews handle aluminum siding installation with the metalwork precision these panels demand — tight seams, concealed fasteners, and thermal expansion allowances that keep your exterior looking flawless through every Georgia season. We also handle full removal and disposal of old wood or vinyl siding before the new material goes on.

Charcoal & Dark Tones

Charcoal siding is the most requested color trend in Johns Creek right now. We install deep grays, midnight blues, and true blacks using ColorPlus technology — guaranteed to resist fading under Georgia's intense UV, so your bold exterior stays bold for years without repainting.

Stone Veneer Integration

Combine fiber cement or board and batten with natural stone veneer for a multi-textured exterior that commands attention. This layered approach — stone on the lower third, siding above — is the signature look of Johns Creek's most prestigious neighborhoods.

Complete Tear-Off & Disposal

We handle full removal of old wood, vinyl, or deteriorating siding before installing your new material. Every project includes thorough cleanup and responsible disposal so your property stays clean throughout the process.

"It's tough to find people you feel like you can trust not to try and get over on you. I spoke with Wes about work I needed to get done and was surprised at his level of honesty and professionalism. Putting that with the word of mouth on the quality of his work... and I wouldn't/won't hesitate to work with him on my next project."

"We had a major project to be undertaken. Need construction to the rescue!! We had water damage to some of the framing on the home exterior and major deck demo and rebuild. They handled it all. I had some unique requests that I wanted installed on my deck. The DekDrain rain system along with the full composite Dekorators Summit boards and railing with a cocktail rail was our desire. We also had to have a concrete patio area below. Wes and his team made it all happen. The subframe was built with better materials that any other contractor had even offered and I was impressed with that alone. I have no doubt that hurricane force winds would have no effect on this fortress of a deck. Even the city inpectors were wowed by the build quality. The craftsmanship and finishing of the final product is top tier. They will take the time to make sure it's your dream come true."

Siding Installation FAQs

Common questions from Johns Creek homeowners about siding materials, costs, and our installation process

What is the cost of fiber cement siding in Johns Creek?

Fiber cement siding installation in Johns Creek typically runs between $18,000 and $40,000 for a full home, depending on square footage, the number of stories, and which Hardie product line you choose. Larger homes in neighborhoods like St. Ives and Country Club of the South often land at the higher end due to complex rooflines and extensive trim detailing. The investment delivers an excellent return — fiber cement consistently outperforms vinyl in resale value studies, and the 30-year warranty means you won't be re-siding anytime soon. Call Need Construction at (470) 284-5348 for a free on-site estimate specific to your home.

Is Hardie Plank better than vinyl siding?

For Johns Creek homeowners, hardie plank siding is the stronger choice in almost every measurable category. It carries a Class A fire rating, resists warping in Georgia's triple-digit heat index days, and won't melt or buckle the way vinyl panels can when direct sun hits south-facing walls for hours. Fiber cement also holds paint dramatically longer and provides an authentic wood-grain appearance that vinyl simply can't replicate. In a community where curb appeal directly impacts property values — especially along Medlock Bridge Road and in the Johns Creek Walk neighborhood — that visual quality matters.

What are the benefits of board and batten siding?

Board and batten siding delivers a modern farmhouse or contemporary aesthetic that's become one of the most requested styles across Johns Creek. The vertical orientation of the wide boards and narrow battens creates strong shadow lines that make homes appear taller and more architecturally interesting. It pairs naturally with stone veneer, metal roofing accents, and horizontal lap sections for a multi-texture exterior. Homeowners along Jones Bridge Road and in newer developments near Technology Park are choosing board and batten to differentiate their homes from the traditional lap siding that dominates older subdivisions.

How long does siding replacement take?

A complete siding replacement on a typical Johns Creek home takes 7 to 14 business days from the first day of demo to final caulking and cleanup. That timeline covers careful removal of existing siding, inspection and repair of underlying sheathing, installation of weather-resistant house wrap, and precision fitting of every new board with proper flashing at windows and doors. Larger homes or those with intricate trim work — common in River Trace and the Country Club of the South — may extend into the third week. Need Construction provides a detailed day-by-day schedule during your consultation so there are no surprises.

Do you offer aluminum siding for modern homes?

Yes — aluminum siding has become a go-to material for Johns Creek homeowners building or renovating in contemporary styles. We install heavy-gauge aluminum panels with factory-applied matte and satin finishes that complement flat rooflines, large window walls, and clean architectural lines. Modern aluminum is nothing like the thin material from decades past; it's fireproof, completely immune to rot and termites, and handles North Georgia's humidity without any maintenance. For accent walls, gable treatments, and architectural details on homes near McGinnis Ferry Road and Abbotts Bridge, aluminum delivers the precision look these designs demand.

What is charcoal siding and is it popular?

Charcoal siding refers to the deep gray and near-black exterior tones that have taken over as the top color choice for upscale remodels in Johns Creek. Homes in St. Ives, Rivermont, and along State Bridge Road are pairing charcoal fiber cement with warm wood accents and natural stone for a striking, magazine-worthy look. James Hardie's ColorPlus factory finish ensures these dark shades resist UV fading even under Georgia's relentless summer sun — no repainting needed for years. If you're after a bold, high-end exterior that stands apart in your neighborhood, charcoal is the move.

Does new siding improve energy efficiency?

New siding installation is one of the most effective upgrades for reducing energy waste in your Johns Creek home. When we replace siding, we install a full weather-resistant house wrap and can add rigid foam insulation underneath, dramatically cutting air infiltration and thermal bridging through your wall assembly. Homeowners across North Fulton County typically see meaningful drops in HVAC costs, especially during July and August when cooling bills spike. The combination of fiber siding and a proper insulation layer creates a tighter building envelope that keeps conditioned air inside where it belongs.

Are your siding installers certified?

Every siding installer on our crew is trained in manufacturer-recommended best practices for both fiber cement and metal cladding systems. We follow James Hardie's installation specifications to the letter — proper gap spacing, corrosion-resistant fasteners, and flashing protocols that meet or exceed Fulton County building codes. This strict adherence protects your warranty and ensures the finished product performs as engineered for decades. Need Construction has been installing siding across Johns Creek for over eight years, and our track record of code-compliant, warranty-preserving work speaks for itself.
